Sam's stomach is on the right hand side of his body, and his means his intestines may twist when he digests food. Therefore his first operation will be immediatley after birth to stick his intestines down.

How our Doctor could tell anything from these scans we will never know his department should soon be getting a newer machine, hopefully one with a better resolution. They basically show the heart from various angles, the red lines are where our Doctor tried to explain what he could see
